How the JCID tag-on repair works
This repair method requires a special programmer tool, such as the JCID V1S Pro, and involves the following steps:Â
- A technician uses the programmer to read and save the original Face ID data from the broken iPhone 14 Plus.
- The technician writes this original data onto a new JCID tag-on flexible printed circuit (FPC) cable that is specifically designed for the iPhone 14 Plus.
- The original Face ID module is “activated” using the programmer.
- The new, programmed tag-on cable is installed and connected to the phone’s original Face ID sensor. The “tag-on” cable simply connects to the existing sensor via a ribbon cable, avoiding the difficult process of soldering.
