How the tag-on FPC works

1. Original data transfer: A repair technician first uses a JCID programmer and an adapter board to read the encrypted Face ID dot matrix data from the iPhone’s original front sensor assembly.
2. Writing to the FPC: That data is then written to the new JCID tag-on FPC replacement cable.
3. Activation: The technician activates the original Face ID module using the programmer.
4. Installation: The tag-on FPC is connected to the phone’s front assembly. Unlike older methods, this solution requires no microsoldering or alignment of the dot projector module. The FPC is simply folded and installed inside the device.
5. Functionality restored: After the repair, the iPhone’s Face ID functionality is restored, and the annoying “Important Face ID Message” is eliminated.
