How JCID Tag-On Face ID repair works

The process requires the following tools and steps:

1. JCID Programmer: A tool like the JCID V1S, V1SE, or V1S Pro is required to read and write Face ID data. The programmer is the central tool that performs the data transfer.
2. JCID “Tag On” Face ID Flex Cable: This is a replacement flex cable specifically for the Face ID dot projector on the iPhone 11 Pro or 11 Pro Max.
3. Read the original data: The repair technician connects the phone to the JCID programmer and reads the encrypted “dot matrix” data from the original Face ID module.
4. Write data to the new flex: The data is then written from the programmer onto the new JCID replacement flex cable.
5. Install the new flex cable: The new “tag on” flex cable is installed without disassembling or re-soldering the delicate, original dot projector hardware.
6. Activate and install: The new repair flex is activated using the programmer and then installed back into the phone. The phone’s Face ID function is restored, and it will no longer show the “Face ID Not Available” error.
