How it works

Rather than boosting the battery itself, the AWESHINE flex and programmer tool work to fix the software’s communication with the new battery. The process typically involves these steps: 
  1. Transfer the BMS: A repair technician removes the Battery Management System (BMS) board from the original battery.
  2. Solder the flex: The original BMS board is soldered onto the AWESHINE tag-on flex cable.
  3. Program the data: The AWESHINE flex is connected to a programmer tool, such as the AWESHINE FC01, to write or modify the battery data. This can include clearing cycle counts and resetting the battery health to 100%.
  4. Install the new battery: The newly programmed flex cable is attached to the replacement battery and installed in the iPhone.
  5. Remove the warning: This process resolves the “non-genuine battery” warning and restores the battery health percentage in the iPhone’s settings. 

Why it’s necessary

Apple began a practice where if a battery is replaced by anyone other than an Apple Authorized Service Provider, a non-genuine battery warning appears. This message appears even if a new, genuine Apple battery is installed by an independent repair shop.
