How it works

1. Read original data: The technician uses a JCID programmer (like the V1SE or V1S Pro) to read and back up the encrypted Face ID data from the iPhone’s original dot projector module.
2. Write data to new flex: The backed-up data is then written to the new JCID tag-on Face ID flex cable.
3. Activate module: The original Face ID module is connected to an activation board on the programmer to be activated.
4. Install the flex: The tag-on flex cable is then installed inside the phone and connected to the Face ID module. It is a non-soldering, “tag-on” connection.
5. Test and reassemble: The technician checks that Face ID is functioning correctly before reassembling the phone. 

What is needed for the repair

• JCID Tag-on Face ID Dot Matrix FPC Replacement Flex Cable: A special flexible printed circuit (FPC) board designed for the iPhone 13 Pro Max.
• JCID Programmer: A programming device, such as the V1S Pro or V1SE, that can read and write Face ID dot matrix data.
• JCID Dot Matrix Activation/Read & Write Board: An adapter module that works with the programmer to read data from and activate the Face ID module.
• Professional tools: The repair requires opening the phone and safely handling sensitive components, which calls for specialized repair skills and equipment.
