The JCID battery repair flex cable for the iPhone 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max is
a tool used by repair technicians to fix battery health data and remove the “Unknown Part” message after a third-party battery replacement. It does not “boost” or increase the battery’s chemical health, but rather restores the ability to display accurate battery information on the device.
How it works
This flex cable is a small electronic component that, along with a compatible programmer (such as the JCID V1S Pro or V1SE), allows a technician to write data from the original battery onto a new, third-party battery.
The process generally involves these steps:
- Detach the original battery’s BMS: The battery management system (BMS) is a small chip on the original battery’s flex cable that holds its unique data. The technician carefully detaches this component.
- Attach the JCID flex cable: The original BMS is then soldered onto the JCID “tag-on” flex cable.
- Transfer data: Using a JCID programmer, the battery health and cycle count data from the original BMS are written onto the new flex cable.
- Install the new battery: The completed flex cable is then installed with the new battery, which allows the phone to read the data correctly and show a perfect battery health percentage.
